Smashed Avo on Sourdough

My quick and easy breakfast or snack option. Avocado is a standout ingredient in this dish, offering healthy monounsaturated fats, fiber, and a variety of nutrients. Sourdough bread, while higher in carbohydrates, also provides some fiber and nutrients. Keep in mind that the exact nutrient content may vary based on the size of the avocado, the thickness of the sourdough slice, and any additional toppings or seasonings used.

Ingredients

1 ripe avocado

2-3 cherry tomatoes

3-4 jalapeños

1 lemon

crushed chilli flakes

crushed pepper

cream cheese or feta cheese

2 sourdough slices

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocado in half, lengthways and remove the stone

  2. Cut the flesh of the avocado into criss-cross lines and remove the skin

  3. Add the avocado chunks into the bowl and mash with a fork

  4. Squeeze a little bit of lemon juice

  5. Add the pepper and chilli flakes or herbs of choice and mix it up

  6. Pop the sourdough slices into the toaster

  7. Slice the tomatoes roughly into smaller pieces to add on top after

  8. Once the sourdough is ready, top with the avo and tomatoes, jalapeños or veg of choice

  9. *In this recipe, cream cheese was added as a spread for extra calories but you can leave this bit out or add feta cheese on top for extra protein
